SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING

Urban Collegiate Academy will implement the Ripple Effects as the schoolwide social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum. Urban Collegiate Academy’s SEL will encompass a range of competencies, including self-awareness, self-care, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible-decision making. Research has shown that students who acquire SEL competencies succeed academically and thrive personally and socially. SEL will cultivate a positive school climate and foster a sense of belonging, empathy, and respect among students and staff at Urban Collegiate Academy. Urban Collegiate Academy’s intentional SEL focus is to enhance students’ resilience and ability to cope with challenges, leading to improved mental health and well-being.
